Salvaging...
Salvaging is fun, and I have a couple simple suggestions to make it better.
Make different Salvage Icons depending on what type of Kit you are using. Right now, they are all Hammers, and when I go to salvage something with a Rune or an upgrade, it really sucks when I discover that I have double-clicked the wrong salvage kit. >< How about this:
Salvage Kit - Keep the hammer [ \ ]
Expert Salvage Kit - Hammer crossed with a Magnifying Glass [ X ]
Identification Kit - Magnifying glass [ / ]
I think it would work well with the new inventory system, since you cant have all your inventory windows open at once.
It would also be nice if you Couldn't use an Expert kit on something without a Modifier on it because they are expensive. ><

Why not just two hammers for the Expert Salvage Kit?

I agree. Some may think an issue like this insignificant, but every little bit helps.
Here are a few more suggestions:
Add salvage and identify icons to the UI, so you don't have to click on kits individually.
Add a "salvage all" option, that automatically salvages all "ordinary" items (those without special stuff) if you have the necessary number of salvage kit uses available. Also add an "expert salvage all" option, that does the same for all items that have special properties.
An "identify all" option.

Wow people. The Icons dont matter, as long as the are Different enough where you dont confuse them. I like the Magnifying Glass crossed with the Hammer cuz that seems logical to me (items you need to use an exper kit on usually require an identification first). Something to distinguish all the kits would be spiftacular.

I never had problems with it: My first two kits were Salvage, my next was Identification, and fourth was Expert Salvage. Just always put them in the same place, and you won't get confused.

Ah mistaking identify for salvage in the heat of battle and the item goes bye bye... that wasn't very fun and i sort of broke down XD The only thing that helped me get back in the game was that everyone was getting their accounts wiped at the end of beta ;3

Doesn't mean it will work for everyone. New players might get confused at it, thinking the Expert Salvage Kit is a regular Salvage Kit and Identification Kit in one. And it depends on how people play/salvage to say if they require an Identification Kit to use on items they will use an Expert Salvage Kit on.
That's why I still think 1 hammer for Salvage Kit, 2 hammers for Expert Salvage Kit, and a magnifying glass for Identification Kit is the best match.

I totally agree with this... I even keep my salvage kits in seperate bags just to avoid such a thing as this.

I just dont think two hammers would do a better job of salvaging an Item than One. Actually, two hammers would probably do more damage to salvagable things if you think about it. Maybe a hammer and a file? Or a hammer and a wedge. Plus I would always think about Pink Floyd if I saw two crossed hammers. :P

On that note, I don't see how a hammer really personifies salvaging anyways. Maybe a hammer and tweezers/pliers/thingamabobs?

Speaking of salvaging, am I the only one who's somewhat upset about them nerfing the Salvage Kits? It dropped from the 100 gold, 25 use kit of the last two betas to a 40 gold, 10 use kit. With how many items there are that we can salvage to get crafting items from dozens of garbs and weapon drops, wouldn't you agree that a 15 use reduction is a bit extreme? What was wrong with the old Salvage Kits?
The only thing that I can think of is that, by lowering the price, it makes it more accessible to newer (read: poorer/less wealthy) players, and in the process of reducing the price, they also had to reduce the uses so that you weren't getting a really good bargain with 25 use/40 gold kits...
But still, it's now just more of a hassle to buy three or four kits at a time to try and go through and salvage everything I want to. I can live with it, but isn't there an easier way? I.E. 10 use salvage kits for 40, as well as the old 25 use "Family-Sized" kits for us packrats?

I could not agreee More I have taken to buying 2 or 3 salvage kits at a time. The glod was not a problem. !00g is easy to get. Just ask the Prince. item space was and always is more hard to come by . So by lowering the price but now you need 2 or 3 to do the job of one it just makes things worse. If you want to option for the poor players Great but then just have 2 types of kits the 40g/10 one and the original 100g/25 then we all can be happy

I think they should just be able to stack, o if you buy three 10 use kits they are represented in the inventory as a 30 use kit. Same way that so many other items stack.

You get larger salvage kits after the academy. I think they implemented the small ones for new players who can't afford to spend 100g on a kit. Yet I agree we should be able to buy both version since they tend to clog our tiny inventory.
